The Memorial Health Care System Foundation was the recipient of the "Judges Choice Award" by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) Southeast Regional Cabinet at their inaugural 2009 AHP Southeast Best Practices Awards program on June 8. Pink!, the Foundation's black-tie fundraiser held each January, received this recognition from the AHP.
“We are delighted that the highly successful Pink! gala has been honored with this prestigious award,” said Phyllis Maynor, Memorial Foundation special events and development specialist. “Out of the hundreds of hospital foundations across the Southeast, Memorial was one of only two to receive an AHP Best Practices Award.”
This regional prize was designed to recognize healthcare fundraising programs that demonstrate innovation, creativity, and successful and measurable outcomes. Entries were judged by a panel of AHP Fellows, and two AHP Southeast Cabinet members whose other criteria included impact on the healthcare institution and community, funds raised, and success of the program/event.
