Standing Committee on Finance Invites Submission of Briefs in Preparation for Hearings
AHP has submitted a brief to the Standing Committee on Finance outlining suggestions regarding tax incentives for charitable giving. AHP recommended:
- The establishment of the “stretch” charitable tax credit, as proposed by Imagine Canada, to help restore and grow the donor base in Canada, which continues to decline.
- The elimination of capital gains tax on gifts of private company shares and real estate to stimulate greater private sector funding of charities.
