On July 8, 2010, HHS/OCR announced proposed modifications to the HIPAA Rules as directed under HITECH to strengthen the privacy and security protection of health information. Proposed changes to the fundraising rules include strengthening the opt-out requirement and potentially expanding fundraisers' access to patient data. Learn More.
